Network Requirements
This section describes the network requirements for AcuityLogic:
Internet Bandwidth
Business-grade Internet connectivity is required. The following table shows the minimum and recommended bandwidth speeds. For the best experience, meet or exceed the recommended bandwidth speed.
Number of Practice Users* | Minimum Bandwidth Speed | Recommended Bandwidth Speed |
---|---|---|
1–5 |
5 Mbps download |
10 Mbps download |
6–10 |
10 Mbps download |
20 Mbps download |
11–15 |
20 Mbps download |
30 Mbps download |
16–20 |
30 Mbps download |
50 Mbps download |
21+ |
50 Mbps download |
100 Mbps download |
* Number of users is based on the number of practice users (doctors, staff, and patients) simultaneously using Eyefinity cloud products (Eyefinity Practice Management, AcuityLogic, and Eyefinity EHR, including the patient kiosk) at the practice location.
To verify your practice’s bandwidth, go to http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest and select the city closest to you. If your bandwidth does not meet the minimum requirements for your practice type, contact your Internet service provider.
Local Area Network
The minimum transmission speed is 100 Mbps.
The recommended transmission speed is 1 Gbps.
Wireless Network
The recommended specification is 802.11n run at a minimum of 108 Mbps on the 5 GHz band.
To ensure that a uniform, good-quality wireless signal is available where your Eyefinity products are used, perform a wireless spectrum survey.
Network Topology
For best performance, use a decentralized Internet access architecture.
Redundancy
A single internet connection is a potential weak point. For failover protection, install two connections from different companies, one as the primary connection and the other as a backup.
