Mapping Diagnosis Codes

You can search for, map, and activate diagnosis codes that you can apply to patient exam orders in AcuityLogic POS.If you are interfacing with ExamWRITER or Eyefinity EHR, you must set up and activate a diagnosis code in order for that diagnosis code to transfer from ExamWRITER or Eyefinity EHR to AcuityLogic.

To map diagnosis codes

  1. Open the Types/References window. See Opening the Types/References Window.
  2. Click the Diag Codes link.

    The Diagnosis Codes window opens and displays the different diagnosis code categories.

  3. From the ICD Revision drop-down list, select ICD-9 or ICD-10.
  4. Click the Diagnosis Category drop-down list, and then select the Diagnosis Categoryβ€”or, in the Diagnosis Category field, type a few letters of the category to see matching categories, and then select the Diagnosis Category.
    If a category is not visible, click the Results tab at the bottom of the drop-down list until the category is displayed for selection.
  5. Click Find to display the Diagnosis Category and its Map Codes link.
    • To deselect the Diagnosis Category so you can do further searches and code updates, in the Diagnosis Category drop-down box, highlight the category, and then delete it.
    • The Diagnosis Category drop-down list will expand, again. You can select another Diagnosis Category, and then click Find.
  6. Next to the diagnosis code category you want to map, click the Map Codes link.

    A new window opens and displays all the diagnosis codes included in the diagnosis code category.

  7. In the Company Description field, if you want the description of a specific diagnosis code to be different than the recorded description, type a new description.
  8. Select the Include check box to activate a diagnosis code so that it is available in AcuityLogic POS.
  9. Click Save to save your selections and close the window.
  10. Repeat steps 6–9 for each diagnosis code category you want to map.
