Updating AcuityLogic Password Policies
To improve security in AcuityLogic, Eyefinity is strengthening the AcuityLogic password policies. For example, to follow best practices, policies that do not expire will be deactivated. This document explains how to update your company’s password policy and how the update will affect your employees.
Topics include the following:
On November 1, 2021, AcuityLogic will deactivate the following password policies because they do not expire:
-
Min 6 to 15 Chars, 1 numeric, 1 upper, 1 lower, no expiration (the former default policy)
-

By or before close of business October 31, 2021, change your company’s AcuityLogic password policy to one of the remaining four, which all contain an expiration date:

- Change the policy after close of business so that it is in effect when your business opens the next day.
- Notify all employees that the policy is changing and that they may be prompted to update their password the next time they log in. See Impact of Changing Your Password Policy.

Impact of Changing Your Password Policy
For each of your employees, AcuityLogic stores the date when their password was last changed. If that date occurred before the new policy’s expiration period began, employees will be prompted to update their password the next time they log in. Employees who set or changed their password more recently may be prompted to change it at a later date.
For example:
-
Your company makes the password policy change effective October 1, 2021, and selects a policy that expires in 90 days.
-
Employee A last updated her password in May 2021.
-
Because Employee A’s password was updated more than 90 days ago, she will be prompted to update her password when she logs in on October 1.
The new password rules are displayed in the AcuityLogic Change Password window. -
Going forward, your employees will be prompted to change their password every 90 days in accordance with the new password policy.
