Deactivating and Reactivating Patient Profiles
In AcuityLogic, you cannot delete a patient profile to which appointments, exams, prescriptions, or orders were added. You can, however, make a patient profile inactive. An inactive patient profile does not appear in patient searches, in the Scheduler, or in other areas of AcuityLogic. You can reactivate an inactive patient profile at any time.
- You cannot deactivate the profile of a patient who has an outstanding balance or an open lab order.
- If you deactivate a patient in AcuityLogic POS, you may want to archive the patient in Eyefinity EHR.
To deactivate and reactivate a patient profile
- Open the Management window. See Opening the Management Window.
- Click the Manage Patient tab.
- In the Select Patient section, do one of the following:
- Enter search criteria to find the patient.
- If the patient’s profile has already been accessed today, select the patient from the Today’s Patients list.
- In the table row that contains the patient’s name, click Activate/Inactivate.
A message appears to tell you whether the profile is now inactive or active.
The patient’s Active check box is deselected or selected accordingly.
- In the message, click OK.
