Merging Patient Profiles
If two or more patient profiles exist for the same patient, managers can use AcuityLogic POS to merge those profiles into a single profile.
When AcuityLogic merges patient profiles, it saves information about demographics, appointments, exams, prescriptions, and orders from both profiles. If the profiles have conflicting information, AcuityLogic uses the information in the “to profile” (the profile to which the other profile is merged).
- Merged patient profiles cannot be unmerged. Ensure that you select the correct profiles before merging them.
- After merging the profiles, AcuityLogic deletes the “from profile.” You cannot retrieve information from that profile.
To merge patient profiles
- Open the Management window. See Opening the Management Window.
- Click the Merge tab.
In the tab, the To Patient group box is selected by default.
- In the Select Patient section, do one of the following:
- Enter search criteria to find the To Patient.
- If the patient’s profile has already been accessed today, select the To Patient from the Today’s Patients list.
- In the search results, click the last name of the To Patient.
The patient’s information is added to the To Patient group box, and the From Patient group box is selected.
- In the Select Patient section, do one of the following:
- Enter search criteria to find the From Patient.
- If the patient’s profile has already been accessed today, select the From Patient from the Today’s Patients list.
- In the search results, click the last name of the From Patient.
The patient’s information is added to the From Patient group box.
- Click Merge Patients.You cannot unmerge patient profiles.
- In the Merge Successful message, click OK.
The merged profile is attached to the To Patient.
The From Patient is removed from the AcuityLogic POS system.
