Searching for a Patient’s Previous Name
If you have trouble finding a patient’s records, the patient’s name might have changed since his or her information was entered in your system. If the name was changed in the patient’s profile, managers can conduct a Previous Patient search in AcuityLogic POS to see whether the patient has records under both the old and new names.
To search for a patient’s previous name
- Open the Management window. See Opening the Management Window.
- Click the Previous Patient tab.
- In the tab, enter part or all of the patient’s previous last name, previous first name, or both names.
- Click Search.
The search results include the following information:
- Current Name: The name to which the original name was changed
- DOB: The birth date associated with the current name
- Note Text: Any names matching your search criteria that were changed to the current name
- Date Changed: The date the name change occurred
