Adding Responsible Party Updates to Dependent Profiles

When you change the demographics (address, phone, email) and when you add or remove a carrier or plan of a patient who has dependents (a responsible party), AcuityLogic can automatically update that information in the profiles of the patient's dependents.

Changes made to a responsible party's existing plans, such as making them active or inactive, are not copied to the dependents' profiles. For more information, see step 6 in the following procedure.

To automatically add responsible party updates to dependent profiles

  1. Open the profile of a patient who is a responsible party. See Opening Patient Profiles.
  2. Change the responsible party's address, phone, or email, or add a plan or carrier to the party.
  3. Save your changes.

Depending on which information you changed, one of the following dialog boxes appears:

    • Demographic changes

Only the information that was updated is displayed. For example, if you update only the email address, the Address and Phone columns do not appear.

    • Carrier or plan additions

If you activate or inactivate one of the responsible party's existing insurance plans, no dialog box appears, and that change is not copied to the dependents' profiles. For more information, see step 6.
  4. In the dialog box, select any dependents and information that you want changed.
  5. Click one of the following buttons:
    • Update: The information is automatically changed in the selected dependents' profiles.
    • Cancel: The dependents' profiles are not updated.
  6. (Optional) If any of the responsible party's insurance plans were activated or deactivated:
    1. Go to the Insurance tab in the dependents' profiles.

      The following dialog box appears:

This box lists carriers and plans that were (1) added to the responsible party but not yet to the dependent or (2) activated or inactivated in the responsible party but not yet in the dependent.

    2. Select one or more of the plans, and click Update.
