Maintaining Bill to Patient Transfer Reasons
You can maintain bill to patient transfer reasons that are displayed in AcuityLogic Billing when you transfer outstanding insurance receivables to patients.
- The Bill to Patient Reason window was automatically populated with bill to patient transfer reasons set up previously. The most frequently used reasons were set to active automatically. The remaining reasons were set to inactive.
- You can add bill to patient transfer reasons or make the existing reasons active or inactive. You cannot delete existing reasons or reasons you add in the Bill to Patient Reasons window.
- AcuityLogic Billing users can select either active or inactive bill to patient transfer reasons. Setting reasons to active or inactive in AcuityLogic Admin only determines if the reasons appear in the active or inactive list in AcuityLogic Billing.
- For multitenant environments, the following setup can be performed only by administrators of the parent company and is required only for the parent company. The parent company setup applies to all companies.
To maintain bill to patient transfer reasons
- In AcuityLogic Admin, click Insurance and select Insurance Bill to Patient Reasons.
The Bill to Patient Reasons window opens.
- Type a phrase in the field, click the Filter icon, and select one of the following options to filter reasons:
- No Filter: Clear a previous filter and display all reasons.
- Contains: Display reasons that contain the text you entered.
- Starts With: Display reasons that begin with the text you entered.
- Click Add Billing Patient Transfer Reason and follow the process below to add a reason:
- Type the reason name in the Description field.
- Select the Active check box if you want the reason to be listed as active in the drop-down lists in AcuityLogic Billing.
- Click the Insert link.
- Click the Edit link for a reason and follow the process below to edit a reason:
- Update the reason name in the Description field, if needed.
- Select or deselect the Active check box, if needed.
- Click the Update link.
