Mapping Diagnosis Codes

You can search for, map, and activate diagnosis codes that you can apply to patient exam orders in AcuityLogic POS. If you interface with ExamWRITER, you must set up and activate a diagnosis code for that diagnosis code to transfer from ExamWRITER to AcuityLogic.

For multitenant environments, the following setup must be completed for each company. The parent company setup is not automatically applied to individual companies.

To map diagnosis codes

  1. Open the Types/References window. See Opening the Types/Reference Window.
  2. Click the Diag Codes link for your company.

    The Diagnosis Codes window opens and displays the diagnosis code categories.

  3. From the ICD Revision drop-down list, select ICD-9 or ICD-10.
  4. From the Diagnosis Category drop-down list, select the appropriate diagnosis category.
    To find a category quickly, enter a few letters of the category in the Diagnosis Category field, or click the Results tab at the bottom of the list until the category is displayed.
  5. Click Find to display the Diagnosis Category and its Map Codes link.
  6. To deselect the diagnosis category so you can do additional searches and code updates:

    1. In the Diagnosis Category drop-down field, highlight the category.
    2. Press Delete.

    The drop-down list re-expands. Select another diagnosis category, and click Find.

  7. In the row of the diagnosis code category you want to map, click the Map Codes link.

    A new window opens and displays all the diagnosis codes in the diagnosis code category.

  8. To make the description of a diagnosis code different from the recorded description, type a new description in the Company Description field.
  9. Select the Include check box to activate a diagnosis code so that it is available in AcuityLogic POS.
  10. Click Save to save your selections and close the window.
  11. Repeat steps 6–9 for each diagnosis code category you want to map.
