Inactivating Patient Profiles

You cannot delete a patient profile with appointments, exams, prescriptions, or orders added. However, you can inactivate these patient profiles so they do not appear in patient searches, in the Scheduler, or in other areas of AcuityLogic.

You cannot inactivate the profile for a patient with an outstanding balance or an open lab order.

To inactivate patient profiles

  1. Open the Management window. See Opening the Management Window.
  2. Enter your credentials in the Login window that opens and click Login.
  3. Click the Manage Patient tab.
  4. Search for a patient using one of the following methods:
    • Enter patient information in one or more of the Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth, and Phone Number fields.
    • Select a recently accessed patient from the Today’s Patients drop-down list.
  5. Click the Activate/Inactivate link next to the patient that you want to inactivate.
    The Active check box next to an inactive patient is deselected. Click the Activate/Inactivate link to make an inactive patient active.

    A dialog box opens confirming the status change.

  6. Click OK to close the dialog box.
