Performing Additional Testing for Contact Lenses
In addition to recording the results for a routine vision exam, the Vision Exam area allows you to record test results for patients using contact lenses. This section shows how
- Open the Vision Exam screen.
For more information on opening the Vision Exam screen, go to Opening the Vision Exam Screen.
- On the Wearing (WRx) tab, click Contact Lenses.
- If needed, make any changes to the fields under Recorded On.
The fields show today’s date and time.
- Click Refraction History and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
- Details. Select the values for the Contacts Prescription from the drop-down lists.
- Additional Details Select the patient’s Underlying Condition from the drop-down lists.
- Assessment Select the patient’s Movement, Centration, Vision, Comfort and Torics Right.
- Over Refraction Select the patient’s Sphere, Cylinder, Axis, Distance Visual Acuity and Near Visual Acuity.
- CL Regimen Select the Wearing Schedule, Replenishment, and Disinfecting information.
- Special Instructions. Enter any special instructions for the patient.
- Select the Contacts Options.
- Select the Contact Usage from the drop-down list.
- Select the contact lens Status from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- On the Wearing (WRx) tab, click RGP Contact Lenses.
- Click New RGP Wearing.
- Click Refraction History and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
- Lens Fitting. Select the Manufacturer, Product, and RGP Type from the drop-down lists. Enter the values for the prescription.
- Special Instructions. Select the Wear Schedule, Disinfecting,DOT, and Usage from the drop-down menus. Enter Additional Notes, if any.
- Click Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Click Keratometry.
If you have a keratometer integrated with Eyefinity EHR, the Keratometry tab may be automatically populated with readings from the keratometer.
- If you need to add keratometry readings manually, enter the Keratometry readings for the right and left eye.
- Click Save.

- Click Soft Contact Lenses.

- Select the trial contact lens Usage from the drop-down list.
- Select the contact lens Status from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Click RGP/Hybrid Contact Lenses.
- Click New RGP Trial.
- Click Refraction History and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
- Lens Fitting. Select the Manufacturer, Product, and RGP Type from the drop-down menus. Enter the values for the prescription.
- Special Instructions. Select the Wear Schedule, Disinfecting, DOT, and Usage from the drop-down menus. Enter Additional Notes, if any.
- Click Save.
