Using the Cancer Log
Some states require providers to track the progress of cancerous lesions and treatments for their patients. You can use the Cancer Log to track the history of diagnosis and treatment. This section covers:
To add a lesion to the cancer log
- Access the patient chart.
- Click Cancer Log.
The Cancer Log opens and shows a history of the diagnosis and treatment related to cancer.
- To filter the list, enter the search criteria and click Apply Filters. To clear your search criteria, click Clear Filters.
- Click Add New Cancer Log.
- Enter the details for the lesion.
- Click Save to add the information to the list.
To view the cancer registry file
- Access the patient chart.
- Click Cancer Log.
The Cancer Log opens and shows a history of the diagnosis and treatment related to cancer.
- Click the Select check box for the cancer log entries you want to view.
- Click View Cancer Registry File.
The Cancer Registry Validation window shows any corrections that need to be made, if any.
- Click Continue with Download.
To view the readable cancer registry file
- Access the patient chart.
- Click Cancer Log.
The Cancer Log opens and shows a history of the diagnosis and treatment related to cancer.
- Click the Select check box for the cancer log entries you want to view.
- Click View Readable Cancer Registry File.
The Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Report to Cancer Registry appears.
