Viewing the Eye Log
As you record a patient's diagnoses and plans, you may want to review the information from the patient’s past visits. The Eye Log gives you access to a patient's eye health history over time. You can view the Eye Log from almost anywhere within the patient's chart.
Clinical staff can create their own filter presets to target specific information and add brief notes to visits displayed in the Eye Log.
- Open the patient chart, visit note, CC/HPI, vision exam, or ocular exam.
- Click the Eye Log action bar icon.
The Eye Log opens and displays a history of the refractions and findings for the patient over past visits, the most recent procedures and tests performed, the most recent diagnoses, and the most recent follow-up visit.
- Click × to exit the Eye Log.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the Filters drop-down button.
- Select the check boxes for the items you wish to appear.
- Click Apply Filter.
You may need to scroll right to see the Apply Filter button on the right side of the window.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the Filters drop-down button.
- Type a name for your filter preset in the text field provided;
Or, if you already have filter presets created, click New Filter and enter a name for your filter preset.
- Select the check boxes for the items you wish to appear.
- Click Apply Filter.
You may need to scroll right to see the Apply Filter button on the right side of the window.
When you create a filter, the filter name appears along side the filter button for quick, one-click access..
- Open the Eye Log.
- Locate the filter presets to the right of the Filters drop-down button and click the name of the filer preset.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the Filters drop-down button.
- Click Delete.
The Delete Quick Filters window opens.
- Click the Delete icon next to each filter preset you wish to remove.
- Click Save when you're finished.
You can't directly edit or rename a filter preset, but you can delete a preset and create a new one.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the name of the filter preset. By selecting the filter preset, you're activating all the individual filter check boxes saved under that preset.
Having the filters active will be helpful because you'll only need to make minor adjustments when you create the replacement preset.
- Click the Filters drop-down button.
- Click Delete. The Delete Quick Filters window opens.
- Click the Delete icon next to the filter preset you wish to edit or rename.
- Click Save.
- Click New Filter and enter a name for your filter preset.
- Edit the check box selections as needed.
- Click Apply Filters.
- Click the Filters drop-down button.
- Click Clear Filter.
You may need to scroll right to see the Clear Filter button on the right side of the window.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the Add Note link that appears beneath the visit date.
The Eye Log Notes window opens.
- Enter your note text.
Keep your notes brief. You may enter up to 100 characters, but only 40 characters display in the Eye Log. Eye Log notes do not appear anywhere else in the patient's record. Notes are great for reminding yourself of significant events or important visits along the timeline of the patient's vision history.
- Click Save.
The note text appears as a link beneath the visit date.
The Eye Log displays only 40 characters of text, while notes can be up to 100 characters. Click the note text that displays in the Eye Log to view the complete note or edit it.
- Open the Eye Log.
- Click the note text that appears link that appears beneath the visit date.
The Eye Log Notes window opens.
- Review and edit the note text as needed.
To delete an Eye Log note, remove all the text.
- Click Save.
