Understanding Electronic Case Reporting Messages
If your practice participates in electronic case reporting (eCR) with your local or state public health agency, you will see messages related to eCR in your direct mail.
When you finalize an exam, Eyefinity EHR automatically sends reportable clinical information via direct mail to AIMS, a secure, cloud-based platform the CDC and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) established to send and receive reportable cases. AIMS then transmits the reportable data to your public health agencies.
Inbox
AIMS sends a reply message for reported clinical data. These messages appear in the primary biller's direct messaging Inbox folder. The subject of the message includes "RR," which stands for "reportablity response."
While most of these replies are simply a receipt, some of the replies may be requests from AIMS or your public health agencies for more information. You must respond to requests for more information.
Sent Items
The messages with reportable data sent to AIMS appear in the primary biller's direct mail Sent folder. The messages include "eICR" in the subject, which stands for "electronic initial case reporting."
