Holding Visits
To prevent a visit from being finalized before it's fully documented, place the visit on hold. There are two types of holds in Eyefinity EHR—hold for results and hold for billing. Both holds prevent the visit from being finalized. This page explains how to place and remove holds.
There is no functional difference between hold for results and hold for billing. The only difference is the status displayed in the list of visits.
Placing Visits on Hold
- Open the visit.
- Click the Workflow tab located above the action bar.
- Click the Hold for Results or Hold for Billing action bar button.
The visit status changes from "Preliminary" to "Hold for Results" or "Hold for Billing." The visit cannot be finalized until the hold is removed.
Removing a Hold from Visits
- Open the visit.
- Click the Workflow tab located above the action bar.
- Click the Release Visit to Preliminary action bar button.
The visit status changes from "Hold for Results" or "Hold for Billing" to "Preliminary." The visit can now be finalized.
