Reconciling Imported Medications and Allergies
You may be presented with a pop-up window that asks you to select medications or allergies when you open a patient's chart. This happens if imported information does not include a valid RxNorm code. RxNorm codes enable the system to check for drug-drug and drug-allergy interactions, and sometimes, information imported from other systems are missing these codes. This is a rare situation. You can dismiss the pop-up, but it will appear again next time you access the patient's chart.
Here's how to reconcile medications and allergies with missing codes:
- Review the imported medication or allergy.
- Enter the Replace With medication or allergy. Often you can simply type the same word displayed in the left column.
- Select the correct medication or allergy from the typeahead list.
- Tap Done when you are finished.
