Recording Exam Set Findings in the Visit Overview (Web)
For routine eye exams, the Simple Eye Exam is sufficient. However, some cases require more detail, and the Eye Exam sets are templates for documenting those cases.
Tabs are displayed along the side of the Eye Exam screen showing the various sections of the eye exam. The default exam set includes findings for external eyes, conjunctiva, cornea, iris, lens, discs, and fundus. When you initially access the eye exam, all sections of the default exam set are set to normal. This saves you time because you only have to record abnormal findings.
Open the Eye Exam
- Open a patient visit. To learn how, go to Creating or Opening a Visit (Web).
- Click the Ocular Exam button under the Actions tab.
- Locate the Exam section and click Perform Exam.
The Perform Exam screen opens to the New Exam Sets window. Continue by selecting an exam type and documenting the findings.

- Move through sections of the exam by clicking the section tab along the left side of the screen.
You only need to click through the sections in which a finding is abnormal.
