Using the Essilor Interface

  1. Ensure that the Essilor device is connected to a computer with the CBOX XML shared folder interface.
  2. In Eyefinity EHR, create a visit note, or open a preliminary note.

  3. Click the Integrations tab.

  4. Click the Equipment Interfaces.
  5. Select the Essilor device that corresponds to your Essilor equipment. If you gave the equipment a nickname in the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window, that name appears in this list.

The Eyefinity Equipment Interface window opens and displays this message: Waiting on Exam Data from DeviceName.

  6. Use the Essilor device to perform the exam tests.

The test data is automatically transmitted to the computer at the end of the test. You can also press Print on the Essilor device’s operation panel to transmit the data to the computer.

The device’s built-in thermal printer prints the recorded data and displays this message: Printing result data. After all the data is transmitted from the operation panel to the computer, the Waiting for Exam Data window closes and the data is displayed in the patient exam.

The Essilor equipment interface receives the diagnostic data from the equipment and sends it to Eyefinity EHR. The Eyefinity EHR equipment interface displays a dialog box when the transfer is complete.

  7. In the message<?>, click OK.
  8. Click Close to close the blank browser window.

The Equipment Integration dialog box opens.

  9. Click Close.

The data that you captured and the date and time it was captured appear in the Pretesting Summary section of the visit note.

    • If the data does not appear, press F5 to refresh the window.
    • The pretesting summary is a snapshot of the data imported from the equipment. The data also populates appropriate areas of the visit note.
  10. Click the angle brackets (>>) to reveal additional data as necessary.
