Setting Up Equipment Interfaces

This topic provides general instructions for setting up equipment with the Eyefinity Equipment Interface. To set up a specific piece of equipment, see the topics listed in Connecting to Diagnostic Equipment.

If you are in Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Services) mode, each user must add equipment interfaces. Settings are not shared between users.

  1. Double-click the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup icon on your computer desktop.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the EHR URL field, enter your practice’s unique eyefinityehr.com address. Do not include http:// or https://. For example, joeseyecare.eyefinityehr.com.
  4. If the Shared Practice Data Folder field is empty, , click Browse, and select a folder accessible to all workstations (for example, C:\OfficeMate\Data\).

    If OfficeMate is installed on your workstation, the C:\OfficeMate\Data\ folder path is automatically added to this field based on where the data folder is located on the OfficeMate server network.

    This folder is used mainly by imaging devices that export graphic files, such as JPGs.

    The default shared folder for equipment connected with a serial cable is C:\EHR_EI.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Select a Manufacturer and Device.
  8. Click Add.

    The settings and options for the selected device appear.

  9. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  10. Enter information for the remaining fields in the window. For instructions on setting up a specific piece of equipment, see the topics listed in Connecting to Diagnostic Equipment.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Repeat steps 7–12 for each piece of equipment (device) attached to this computer.

    Many imaging equipment interfaces have a capture and review components. Be sure to set up both components.

  13. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you are in Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Services) mode, each user must edit equipment interfaces. Settings are not shared among users.

  1. Double-click the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup icon on your computer desktop.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Select an equipment interface (device).
  3. Click Edit.

    The settings and options for the selected device appear.

  4. Edit the appropriate settings and options. For instructions on setting up a specific piece of equipment, see the topics listed in Connecting to Diagnostic Equipment.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat steps 2–5 for each piece of equipment attached to this computer.
  7. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.

If you are in Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Services) mode, each user must remove equipment interfaces. Settings are not shared between users.

  1. Double-click the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup icon on your computer desktop.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Select an equipment interface (device).
  3. Click Remove.
  4. In the confirmation message, click Yes.

    The device is removed.

  5. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.
