Setting Up the Marco Interface

This page explains how to

  1. Double-click the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup icon on your computer desktop.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Marco manufacturer and a Marco device.
    • If you use M3 TonoRef II, select the RKT-7700 device.
    • If you use TRS-3100 or TRS-5100, select the RT5100 device.
    • If you use Marco Connect software with the RT-6100, select the RT5100 (not the RT6100) device. If you are not using Marco Connect software with the RT-6100, select the RT6100 device.

  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. In the following table, complete the tasks that apply to your device:

    RT6100 (Auto Phoropter)
    1. Click Browse, and select the location of the exchange folder configured in the RT-6100 device where the file is saved. The exchange folder can be any folder on your system that Eyefinity EHR and Marco systems can access and that is not used by any other application, including Marco. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer process.
    2. In the File Prefix field, enter the first two characters of the device name.

    RT5100 (Auto Phoropter)

    RT2100 (Auto Phoropter)

    RT900 (Auto Phoropter)

    ARK-A-Devices (Auto Refractor Keratometer)

    RKT-7700 (Auto Refractor Keratometer)

    LM-Devices (Lensmeter)

    VL3000 (Lensmeter)

    1. Select either a Serial Port connection or Marco Connect to input from a file.
    2. If you use a serial port connection: 
      1. Select the COM Port.
      2. Select the Baud Rate. The default is 2400.
    3. If you use Marco Connect:
      1. Click Browse, and select the location of the exchange folder configured in Marco Connect where the file is located after the exam information is exported. The exchange folder can be any folder on your system that Eyefinity EHR and Marco systems can access and that is not used by any other application. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer process.
      2. In the File Prefix field, enter the first two characters of the device name.
      3. Select the File Extension. The default is .xml.
    RT5100 Export (Auto Phoropter)Click Browse, and select the location of the exchange folder configured in Marco Connect where the file is saved. The exchange folder can be any folder on your system that Eyefinity EHR and Marco systems can access and that is not used by any other application. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer process.
    OPD-Scan III (Auto Refractor)
    1. Click Browse, and select the location of the exchange folder configured in Marco Connect where the file is saved.
    2. Leave the File Prefix field blank.
    3. Select the File Extension. The default is .xml.
    4. After setting up the OPD-Scan III auto refractor, set up the OPD-Scan III image manager.
    Reivew OPD-Scan III (Image Manager)Make sure that you set up the OPD-Scan III auto refractor. No additional setup instructions exist for this device.

    Tonometer

    1. Click Browse, and select the location of the exchange folder configured in Marco Connect where the file is located after the exam information is exported. The exchange folder can be any folder on your system that Eyefinity EHR and Marco systems can access and that is not used by any other application. If you select a folder that contains files, they will be deleted during the integration and data transfer process.
    2. In the File Prefix field, enter the first two characters of the device name.
    3. Select the File Extension. The default is .xml.
  7. (Optional) Click Test to verify that you can connect to the Marco equipment.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Repeat steps 2-8 for each piece of Marco equipment that you use.
  10. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.
