Reviewing NIDEK NAVIS-EX Images

  • The NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review software can be used only from within Eyefinity EHR when a patient’s retinal images were previously captured using Eyefinity EHR and the NIDEK NAVIS-EX Capture interface.
  • Both the NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review software and Eyefinity EHR must be installed and set up on all workstations (up to three) on which you want to review images.
  1. Ensure that Eyefinity EHR is open.
  2. Create a blank exam, or open a saved exam for a patient whose retinal images you previously captured.

    Before opening the NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review program, record the patient’s date of birth and sex in Eyefinity EHR.

  3. In the Eyefinity EHR chart window, click the Interfaces icon, and select NIDEK NAVIS-EX:Review.

    OR

    Under the Eyefinity EHR Images, Drawings and Graphics category bar, click the NAVIS-EX icon.

    • The NAVIS-EX icon appears only when images exist for the selected patient.
    • If you hover the mouse over the NAVIS-EX icon, the date in YYYY/MM/DD format and a description of the latest image file are displayed. (The image description is not entered into the Eyefinity EHR record.)

    The NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review window opens and displays the selected patient’s detailed information and images.

    If the patient’s information is not already stored in the NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review program, the patient’s name, gender, and date of birth are loaded into the program from Eyefinity EHR.

  4. To use the application, follow the NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review instructions in the NAVIS-EX Operator’s Manual.
  5. Close NIDEK NAVIS-EX Review to return to Eyefinity EHR.
