Using the Humphrey HFA II-i Interface

  1. In Eyefinity EHR, create a visit note, or open a preliminary note.

  2. Click the Integrations tab.
  3. Click Equipment Interfaces.
  4. Select the Humphrey HFA II-i capture option. If you gave the equipment a nickname in the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window, that name appears in this list.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface window opens and displays this message: Waiting for HFA reports. Click Done when all HFA field reports have been transferred. Eyefinity EHR sends patient demographic information to the Humphrey equipment.

    If you used your Humphrey equipment before integrating it with Eyefinity EHR, you may need to change the patient numbers in the Humphrey equipment to match the patient numbers in Eyefinity EHR. You cannot change multiple patient numbers simultaneously. You must change patient numbers one at a time.

  5. Insert a floppy disk into the floppy drive on the Humphrey equipment.
  6. Press one of the ten test buttons on the Humphrey Main Menu window.
  7. Select Right or Left from the Select Eye window.

    The Patient Data 1 window opens.

  8. If the incorrect patient is displayed in the window, perform the following steps. Otherwise, go to step 10.
    1. Press Clear Patient Data.
    2. Press Clear Data.
  9. Press Recall Patient Data.
  10. From the Source drop-down list, select Work List.
  11. Press Proceed.

    The Work List window opens.

  12. Highlight the current patient.
  13. Press Proceed.

    The Patient Data 1 window opens.

  14. Verify that the patient demographic data is correctly displayed in the window.
  15. Press Proceed.

    The Humphrey equipment checks for a floppy disk and ensures that you can write to the disk. The test screening window opens.

  16. Press Start on the test screening window.

    This message appears: Initialize Gaze Monitory. Instruct Patient to Look at Fixation Lights.

  17. Press Start.

    This message appears: Initializing Gaze Successful.

  18. Press Continue.

    The test is performed, and this message appears: Do You Wish to Save This Test For: Patient?

  19. Press Yes.

    This message appears: Saving Test In Progress. Please Wait. The Humphrey data is transferred to Eyefinity EHR. Eyefinity EHR parses and saves the data, and receives the reports.

    To test another eye, press Test Other Eye, and repeat steps 16–19. Otherwise, go to step 20.

    The equipment interface displays a dialog box when the data transfer is complete.

  20. Click OK.
  21. Click the Close button to close the blank browser window.

    The Equipment Integration dialog box opens.

  22. Click Close.

    The data you captured appears in the Eyefinity EHR window.

    If the data does not appear, press F5 to refresh the window.

  23. On the Humphrey equipment, press the Main Menu or Return icon.

    The Main Menu window opens.
