Using the Audit Event Log
Data can be narrowed by User, Patient, date range, and Event Name. A date range search is limited to a period 7 days, with 30 days of history being available. If older data is required, an export of the raw audit log data can be made available upon request with reasonable advance notice.
There are several ways to audit users and general events. What do you want to do?
- Log into Encompass as an administrator.
- Navigate to the Event Logs section and locate Audit Event Logs.
- Click Manage.
- In the Audit Event Logs tab, set your filters and click Apply Filters when finished.
The requested data displays in your audit event log.
- To print, click Print at the bottom of the audit log.
Historical audit reports allow you to generate audit event logs for actions or events that occurred more than 30 days prior to the current date.
- Log into Encompass as an administrator.
- Navigate to the Event Logs section and locate Audit Event Logs.
- Click Manage.
- Select the Historical Audit Reports tab and click Request Audit Report.
- Enter the data in the fields you would like to be included in the report and click Save.
The requested historical audit report displays with a Processing status. When the report finishes processing, the status changes to Finished.
- Select Encrypt to Download to receive a download link.
A Password Protect The File window appears and prompts you to enter a password. Do so and click Save.
- To decrypt the file on your desktop, download the AES Crypt UI.
- Log into Encompass and click the Patients tab to search for a patient.
- Click the patient's name in the search results to enter their chart and click Edit Patient Data.
- Select Appointment History and locate an appointment to review.
- In the Action column, click View Appt.
- Scroll down to the Appointment Change History section and review any changes.
