Managing Firm Settings

Here's how to find the Manage Firm Preferences page:

1. Log in to the Encompass web application as an administrator.
2. Locate the Firm Settings group and click Manage Firm Settings.

   The Firm Settings page opens. For information about the effect of each preference, go to Choose firm settings.

Refer to the following table to understand how each setting impacts your practice.

Show/Hide Fee Schedule Average from Eye Code vs E/M Evaluation and Management coding. The process by which physician-patient encounters are translated into five digit CPT codes to facilitate billing. Use MIPS Merit-based Incentive Payment System. A program that incentivizes healthcare providers to improve the quality of care they deliver to Medicare patients. Auto-Coding	Medicare Patients Only suppresses CPT Category II codes 5-digit alpha-numeric codes that receive no payment. They are typically reported to Medicare to indicate quality of care and outcomes. Also known as PQRS, Level II, or HEDIS codes. from being generated for non-Medicare patients.	All Patients generates CPT Category II codes for all patients regardless of insurance. Note that some insurances may reject claims if they aren't expecting CPT Category II codes. Note also that your practice management system may scrub CPT Category II codes from non-Medicare claims.	Medicare Patients Only
Enable National Converage Determination (NCD)	Medicare Only displays warnings for uncovered tests for patients only using Medicare.	All Primary Insurance Carriers Including Medicare displays warnings for all primary insurances as well as Medicare.	Medicare Only
