303. Cataracts: Improvement in Patient’s Visual Function within 90 Days Following Cataract Surgery

Percentage of patients aged 18 years and older who had cataract surgery and had improvement in visual function achieved within 90 days following the cataract surgery, based on completing a preoperative and postoperative visual function survey.

This measure is to be submitted each time for denominator eligible cases as defined in the denominator criteria. This measure is intended to reflect the quality of services provided for the patient receiving cataract surgery.

This measure should be reported by the operating surgeon only.

When the patient returns for the postop visit, perform the following steps:

  1. Document a cataract or post op cataract Diagnosis.
  2. Select a postop cataract evaluation Plan and tap Save.
  3. Locate the Postop Evaluation Cataract plan you just added and tap Resume.
  4. On the Details tab, document the Postop Day.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. Tap Special Plans and select MIPS.
  7. From Popular Plans, select MIPS Quality and tap Save.
  8. Locate the MIPS Quality plan and tap Resume.
  9. Tap the Cataract tab.
  10. Select the applicable option from the Quality 303 drop-down.
  11. Tap Done.
  12. Document the rest of the visit and Finalize.
