Adding CPT Category II Codes to AcuityLogic Orders and Claims
Depending on your electronic health record and your settings in AcuityLogic, CPT Category II codes may automatically transmit from the exam to the order and then onto the claim.
If a CPT Category II code is not available in your systems, contact Eyefinity Support.
Practice administrators are responsible for adding CPT codes and making them available for users to add to orders:
- In AcuityLogic Admin, click Insurance and select CPT Maintenance.
- Click the Maintenance Type drop-down menu and select CPT Codes.
- Click Add CPT Codes.
- In the CPT Code field, type the CPT Category II code, and type a Description.
- Select the Active and Non Billable check boxes.
- Click Insert.
To allow CPT Category II codes documented under Override Billing in Eyefinity EHR to appear on your VSP claims, perform the following steps:
- In AcuityLogic Admin, click Company and select Company Setup.
- Click Add. Carrier Att.
- Click Add Attributes.
- Click the Carrier drop-down menu and select VSP.
- Select the PQRS Codes check box.
- Click Insert.
If you aren’t using Eyefinity EHR, you’ll need to manually add CPT Category II codes to VSP orders:
- In AcuityLogic POS, open the patient profile, click the Orders tab, and click Exam/Miscellaneous Order.
- Click the Exam link.
- Select the Click Here to Show PQRI Codes check box.
- Select the appropriate CPT Category II code(s).
- Click Add Exam.
If you aren’t using Eyefinity EHR and your front office staff didn’t add the CPT Category II codes to the order, you’ll need to manually add CPT Category II codes to VSP claims:
- Log into AcuityLogic Billing and click Claim Management.
- Search for and open the claim.
- Click the Action drop-down menu and select Edit Claim.
- Click + Add.
- Enter the Date of Service in the next available row.
- Enter the CPT Category II code in the Procedure Code field.
- Enter a Diagnosis Pointer.
- Click Save.
