Creating or Opening a Visit in the iPad App

You can create a new visit from the Home page or from the patient's chart. This topic describes how

  1. Locate the patient for which you want to open a new visit.
  2. Tap Create Visit.

    The Visit Overview screen appears, and a visit is created for today.

  1. Open the patient's chart.
  2. Tap the New Visit button.

    The Visit Overview screen appears and a visit is created for today.

    To document situations that don't involve an exam, click the New Visit drop-down srrow and select New Order. This creates a nonvisit order, which is useful for documenting contact lens followups or prescribing medications outside of a visit.

  1. Open the patient's chart.
  2. Tap the visit you want to open.

    The Visit Overview screen shows the details for the visit.
