Performing Additional Testing for Contact Lenses on the iPad
In addition to recording the results for a routine vision exam, the Vision Exam allows you to record test results for patients using contact lenses. This section shows how
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Tap Wearing (WRx).

Tap Add Soft CL.
The Refractions tab opens.

Tap View/Import Refraction Hx and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
The available tabs are:
- Refractions. Select the Contact Usage from the drop-down menus. Select the Product Manufacturer and Series. Select the values for the Contacts Prescription from the drop-down menus.
- Visual Acuities. Select the patient’s Distance Vision and Near Vision from the drop-down menus. You can tap the 20/20 OU link to populate the Visual Acuities. You can tap the arrow to select the Glare, BAT, PAM, and RAM.
- Assessment. If the test result was normal, tap Mark as Normal. Select the patient’s Torics Rotated Right and Left, the Movement, Centration, Vision, Comfort and Torics Right.
- Over Refraction. Select the patient’s Sphere, Cylinder, Axis, Distance Visual Acuity and Near Visual Acuity.
- CL Regimen. Select the Wearing Schedule, Replenishment, and Disinfecting information. Enter any Special Instructions.
- Tap Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Tap Wearing (WRx).
- Tap Add RGP CL.
The Lens Fittings tab opens.
- Tap View/Import Refraction Hx and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
The available tabs are:
- Lens Fittings. Select the Manufacturer, Product, and RGP Enter from the drop-down menus. Select the values for the Visual Acuity from the drop-down menus. Enter the values for the prescription.
- To copy the prescription for the right eye to the left eye, tap Copy OD to OS.
- Assessment. If the test result was normal, tap Mark as Normal. Select the patient’s Torics Rotated Right and Left, the Movement, Centration, Vision, Comfort and Torics Right.
- Over Refraction. Select the patient’s Sphere, Cylinder, Axis, Distance Visual Acuity and Near Visual Acuity.
- Special Instructions. Select the Usage, Wear Schedule, Disinfecting, and DOT from the drop-down menus.
- Tap Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Tap Keratometry.
The Keratometry tab opens.
The Keratometry tab may be automatically populated with readings from the keratometer entered in the Eyefinity EHR web application.
- If you need to add keratometry readings manually, enter the Keratometry readings for the right eye.
- Enter the Keratometry readings for the left eye or tap the arrow to copy the reading for the right eye to the left eye fields.
- Leave Manual Entry set to on.
- Tap Save.
- Open the Vision Exam screen.

- Tap Contact Lens.
- Tap Add Trial.
The Refractions tab appears.
To view a history of the patient’s refractions, tap View/Import Refraction Hx.
- Select the Manufacturer and the Series.
- Tap Import Previous Refraction and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
The available tabs are:
- Refractions. Select the Contact Usage from the drop-down menus. Select the values for the Contacts Prescription from the drop-down menus.
To copy the prescription for the right eye to the left eye, tap Copy OD to OS.
- Visual Acuities. Select the patient’s Distance Vision, Near Vision, and PH Value from the drop-down menus. You can tap the 20/20 OU link to populate the Visual Acuities. You can tap the arrow to select the Glare, BAT, PAM, and RAM.

- Tap Contact Lens.
- Select RGP/Hybrid Contact.
- Tap Add Trial.
The Lens Fitting tab appears.
- Tap Import Previous Refraction and select the refraction you want to import, or enter the details for the patient’s contact lenses.
