Setting Up Default Rx Expiration Periods
You can set default expiration periods for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions recorded in Front Office. Expiration Dates for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions will default to the specified number of months after the Rx date.
If you integrate with EHR, the expiration dates for exams sent from EHR will not be affected by the expiration periods configured in Encompass. The expiration dates for recheck prescriptions for EHR exams will be determined using the configured expiration periods.
- On the Encompass home screen, click Administration.
The Company: Setup screen opens.
-
On the top menu bar, click Preferences and select Patient.
The Patient Configurations screen opens.
-
Under Prescriptions, enter the number of months for the Default Eyeglass Rx Expiration and Default Contact Lens Rx Expiration.
- Click Save.
