Setting Up Default Rx Expiration Periods

You can set default expiration periods for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions recorded in Front Office. Expiration Dates for eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions will default to the specified number of months after the Rx date.

  • If you integrate with Eyefinity EHR, the expiration dates for exams sent from Eyefinity EHR will not be affected by the expiration periods configured in Eyefinity Practice Management. The expiration dates for recheck prescriptions for Eyefinity EHR exams will be determined using the configured expiration periods.
    1. From the menu, select Preferences and then Patient.

    2. Under Default Rx Expiration, record the number of months for the Eyeglass Rx Expiration and Contact Lens Rx Expiration.

    3. Click Save.
