Installing the Equipment Interface

Install the Eyefinity Equipment Interface only once on each computer where you plan to use equipment interfaces. After that, the interface is automatically updated whenever necessary to ensure that ExamWRITER can always interact with your latest equipment.

To install the Eyefinity Equipment Interface on ExamWRITER 12 and later

If you use ExamWRITER 12, you cannot install the Eyefinity Equipment Interface if OM Matrix Gateway is also installed on the computer. Instead, you must either uninstall OM Matrix Gateway or upgrade to the latest version of ExamWRITER. See Installing and Upgrading.

Ensure that ExamWRITER is open.
Do one of the following:
- ExamWRITER 12: Download and open EyefinityEquipmentInterface.exe from your computer.
- ExamWRITER 14 and later: Click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Install Equipment Interface.
  If you receive a Setup Failed error, download and open EyefinityEquipmentInterface.exe from your computer.
If an Update Available window opens and detects a newer version of the Eyefinity Equipment Interface, click Update Now to download and install it.
Do one of the following:
- Click Next to install on the default local disk drive.
- Click Browse to navigate to the folder where you want to install the interface, and then click Next.

The default install folder is C:\EHR_EI.

Review the installation location, and click Install.
The Eyefinity Equipment Interface is installed.
Select the Launch Setup checkbox to begin setting up the interface.
Click Close.
Repeat this procedure on each computer where equipment interfaces will be used.
