Setting Up the AdaptDx Interface

1. Create a folder for temporary AdaptDx files on a shared network drive.

   • This folder can be any folder on your system that ExamWRITER and AdaptDx can access and that is not used by any other application.
   • You can give the folder any name. Use a name that is unique to this piece of equipment in your practice. For example, “AdaptDx 2-3,” where 2-3 represents the practice location and room numbers. Create a different folder for each new AdaptDx in your practice network.
   • This piece of AdaptDx equipment writes files to this folder. The contents of the folder are deleted before each new capture. To prevent data loss, do not use this folder to store other files or assign this folder to any other piece of equipment.
2. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

   The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

3. Click Add.
4. Select the Maculogix manufacturer and the Capture AdaptDx (Dark Adaptometer) device.
5. Click Add.

   The settings and options appear.

6. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
7. Click Browse, and select the location of the folder created in step 1 (AdaptDx Export Folder).

   This folder cannot be used by any other application because all files in this exchange folder are deleted before each new capture.

8. Click Save.

9. Click Add.

10. Select the Maculogix manufacturer and the Review AdaptDx (Image Manager) device.
11. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

12. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
13. Click Save.
14. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.
