Setting Up the Kowa Interface

You must set up the Kowa interface from the computer connected to the Kowa equipment.

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.
  3. Select the Kowa manufacturer and the Capture (Retinal Imaging System) device.
  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. Click Browse, and select the full path for the KmoitID.exe application.
  7. Click Browse, and select the full path for the Kowa database. Include the database file name:
    • For Kowa 4 or later, use file name vk3x.mde
    • For Kowa 3 or earlier, use file name vk2_21.mde
  8. Click Save.

  9. Click Add.

  10. Select the Kowa manufacturer and the Review (Image Manager) device.
  11. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  12. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  13. Click Browse, and select the full path for the KmoitID.exe application.
  14. Click Browse, and select the full path for the Kowa database. Include the database file name:
    • For Kowa 4 or later, use file name vk3x.mde
    • For Kowa 3 or earlier, use file name vk2_21.mde
  15. Click Save.
  16. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.
