Setting Up the Zeiss i.Profiler & i.Scription Interface

  1. In the ExamWRITER main window, click Tools, select Equipment Integration Setup, and select Equipment Interface Setup.

    The Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window opens.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Select the Zeiss manufacturer and one of the following devices:

    • Zeiss iScription Import (Auto Refractor Keratometer)
    • Zeiss iScription Export (Software Tool)
    • Zeiss iProfilerPlus (Software Tool)
  4. Click Add.

    The settings and options appear.

  5. (Optional) Enter a Device Nickname.
  6. In the following table, complete the tasks that apply to your device:
    DeviceTasks
    Zeiss iScription Import
    (Auto Refractor Keratometer)

    1. Click Browse, and select the location on the network (iScription Export Folder) where Zeiss saves the import data file.

    2. Select the Round to 1/4 Diopter checkbox.

    Zeiss iScription Export (Software Tool)

    1. In the iProfiler Network Name field, enter the iProfiler network name in this format: IPROFPXXXX, where XXXX is the serial number.
    2. Enter the Profiler Timeout in seconds. If you encounter issues due to a slow connection or device processing, increase the timeout.
    3. To test the connection to the iProfiler, click Test Connection.
    4. Click Browse, and select the location on the network (iScription Export Folder) where Zeiss saves the import data file. Ensure the location matches the location configured in iScription (for example, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\pontus\PMS_Export).
    Zeiss iProfilerPlus
    (Software Tool)
    1. In the iProfiler Network Name field, enter the iProfiler network name in this format: IPROFPXXXX, where XXXX is the serial number.
    2. Enter the Profiler Timeout in seconds. If you encounter issues due to a slow connection or device processing, increase the timeout.
    3. To test the connection to the iProfiler, click Test Connection.

    4. Select the Round to 1/4 Diopter checkbox.

  7. Repeat steps 4–7 for each piece of Zeiss equipment or software (Zeiss iScription Import, Zeiss iScription Export, and Zeiss iProfilerPlus) that you use.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Close the Eyefinity Equipment Interface Setup window.
