Using the Vmax Vision PSF Refractor Interface

1. Open ExamWRITER.
2. Create a blank exam, or open a saved exam for an existing patient.
3. In the ExamWRITER chart window, click the Interfaces icon.
4. Select VMax:VMax Launch.

   The VMax Rx window opens.

5. Select the Auto Refraction, Presenting Spectacle Rx, or Manifest Rx option, and click Send.

   The selected data, patient name, and patient ID are sent to the Vmax Vision PSF Refractor, and the VMax Launch file status dialog box specifies that the patient file was successfully created.

6. Click OK to close the VMax Launch file status dialog box.
7. Use the PSF Refractor to perform the examination or tests.
8. On the interface of the PSF Refractor, click the Store button.

   The PSF Refractor exports the data to an XML file.

9. In the ExamWRITER chart window, click the Interfaces icon.
10. Select VMax:VMax Capture.

    After all the captured data is imported into the patient exam, “Data Received” appears in the Eyefinity Equipment Interface window, and the window closes.

11. To view the data from the PSF Refractor, see the following locations on the Vision/Rx tab in the patient exam:
    • Final Spectacle Rx box
    • In XML file format in the Notes field

    To view the full XML data, double-click the Notes field.
