Updating OfficeMate/ExamWRITER 15 with Autoupdate

OfficeMate/ExamWRITER is updated regularly. Updates may include new features, bug fixes, coding updates, or changes required for regulatory compliance. Eyefinity recommends installing updates regularly.

Any update requires updates to the OfficeMate server and OfficeMate/ExamWRITERprograms. Once the server is updated each workstation will be required to install the update when OfficeMate or ExamWRITER are opened. Plan your updates to minimize disruption to your practice.

When you open the OfficeMate or ExamWRITER programs, the software checks for any available updates. If an update is available, a window opens informing you of the update, click OK to dismiss the message.

Updating the OfficeMate Server

The OfficeMate server must be updated prior to the workstations.

  1. Close OfficeMate/ExamWRITER on all workstations.
  2. Install any pending Windows updates on the server and restart the server as needed to complete the Windows updates.
  3. Double-click the OfficeMate Server Update icon on the server desktop.

    If the icon is not available on your desktop, navigate to your C:\OfficeMate or C:\OMATE32 folder and double-click ServerUpdateUtility.exe.

  4. Click Update Now to download the updates.
  5. Follow the prompts to install the server update.

    Once the server update is complete, open OfficeMate or ExamWRITER on each workstation to begin updating the OfficeMate/ExamWRITER programs or notify your staff that they will be required to update the software before they can begin work.

Updating the OfficeMate/ExamWRITER Documentation Programs

The OfficeMate server must be updated prior to the workstations.

  1. Install any pending Windows updates on the workstation and restart the workstation as needed to complete the Windows updates.
  2. Double-click the OfficeMate or ExamWRITER icon on the desktop.

    If the icon is not available on your desktop, navigate to your C:\OfficeMate or C:\OMATE32 folder and double-click ServerUpdateUtility.exe.

  3. Click Update Now to download the updates.
  4. Follow the prompts to install the update.
  5. When the installation is complete, click Close. If a Restart button is available, click Restart.
