Loading Frame Products into OfficeMate

Loading frames from a subscription service is the fastest and most efficient way to set up frame products in OfficeMate. FrameMate allows you to download frames from the electronic catalogs available from the FRAMES Data SPEX UPC CD-ROM or On Demand electronic download and the FRAMES Data Quarterly CD-ROM into OfficeMate.

If you do not subscribe to FRAMES Data, you can enter your frame products manually. For more information on adding products manually, go to Maintaining Product & Service Information.

This section tells you how

  1. For information about loading frame products into OfficeMate, go to Using FrameMate.
  2. Once the frame products have been downloaded, add any missing mount information. For more information, go to To add missing frame mount information.

Roughly 70% of the frames loaded from CDs are missing mount information, which is required for VSP orders. You can add mount information to many frames at once through the Product Maintenance window.

  1. Open the Products window using one of the following methods:
    • Click the Products icon and select Product Maintenance.
    • Click Tasks on the main window toolbar and select Product Maintenance.
  2. Select Frames from the Product Type drop-down menu.
  3. Select No Mount Entered from the Mount drop-down menu and enter any other search criteria needed to narrow your results.

    It helps to narrow your search in such a way that the resulting frames will have similar mounts.

  4. Click Search.
  5. In the search results, deselect the check boxes for any frames appearing that you do not want to update or frames that will not match the mount of the others.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Select the Mount check box, select a mount type from the Mount drop-down menu.
  8. Click Save and Continue.

    The mount is added to all the frames selected in your search results.
