OfficeMate Enhancements
- We added the option to display alerts for Collections, Outstanding Balance, and No Shows when you click Patient Demographics in Administration, your OfficeMate location, and the Appointment Scheduler. To enable these alerts, go to Administration > Setup > Preferences > Misc. tab and select 'Yes' for 'Prompt for Patient Alert.'
- With the addition of Unity Via Elite VR lenses to the VSP formulary, we added a prompt for required additional measurements when you select these specialty lenses.
- You can no longer alter insurance charge backs after they have been performed. To correct any errors, you must follow proper work flows. Previously, altering charge backs caused complications such as negative unapplied balances, causing errors in the software and necessitating technical support intervention.
OfficeMate Fixed Issues
- We fixed an error that populated a patient's primary insurance on fee slips rather than the selected insurance . This prevents such issues as incorrect copays for patients and insurance billing errors.
- We corrected two issues that arose for some customers when running the ABB CL Catalog Loader and the Lens Product Loader after upgrading to version 15.3.5813.
ExamWRITER Enhancements
-
We improved the contact search capability to drill down to specific lens names more easily.
-
We added sort buttons in the Patient History and Plan sections of exams under Contact Lens Care > Disinfection, which lets you sort the selections and find the correct ones more quickly.
-
We updated the text under Impressions > Retinal Vascular from 'Venous Occlusion' to 'Venous Engorgement' to accurately reflect correct verbiage. Autocoding for the updated wording remains the same.
-
We added the following selections under Special Testing > Dark Adaptation section in exams to enable you to document patient results more accurately and provide more personalized care:
-
Rod Intercept
-
Fixation error rate
-
Bleaching Error
-
Consistent with AMD
-
Re-evaulate in 6 months
-
ExamWRITER Fixed Issues
- We improved the code mapping process for Varilux XR lens styles. This ensures these lenses can be selected and that you will be prompted for additional measurements, which enables you to smoothly submit the associated claim.
- We fixed an issue that incorrectly displayed service dates on open charges. The correct service date and exam number now display properly for current open charges, which allows you to submit the correct information when filing claims.
- We corrected an issue that prevented staff member names from saving on fee slip line items when typing their name.
- We corrected an issue that was affecting the text of medications with long names, which now display in their entirety.
Regulatory Enhancements
-
We added the CPT code '92137 - OCT post seg w/IR uni/bi lateral retina, incl OCT angio' to the CPT table and to the Product table under Services to reflect new coding guidelines enacted by the AMA effective January 1, 2025. For more information, see the Ophthalmology and Optometry Coding Alert.
-
To adhere to regulatory requirements, we added information about patient health insurance to the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI), including both active and inactive insurance information.
-
We corrected an issue that prevented data exports from running correctly. Document directory paths that were broken or no longer active will no longer cause errors when exporting patient records.
