Creating an Eyeglass Lens Base Type
Lens base types include single vision, bifocal, progressive, and so on.
To create an eyeglass lens base type
- In AcuityLogic Admin, click Product, select Eyeglass Lens, and then select Lens Base Type.
- Click Create New.
- Complete the following fields:

Description
Name of the lens base type. This is what users see in AcuityLogic POS when they are selecting a lens base type.

View Order
The order in which you want this attribute to appear in the drop-down list for Lens Base Type in AcuityLogic POS.
If you type the same view order number for another lens base type, the options appear together in alphabetical order.
If you enter 0, the option does not appear.

Code
This field no longer has functionality. Codes are mapped through the Map Partners option. See Adding Partner Codes for Eyeglass Lenses and Attributes.
Item Fields
Item Name
Name that appears in the Style drop-down list in AcuityLogic Admin. This should match what you typed in the Description field.

Item Number
A shortened version of the Description and Item Name.

Item Type
The type of item. Lens Base Type automatically appears.
UPC Code
This field has no functionality for lens base types.
Item Status
The status of the attribute.
In AcuityLogic POS and AcuityLogic BackOffice, you can run reports on the lens base type based on the assigned status.
Default Cost
The cost of the lens type attribute (although the cost is typically assigned to the complete lens).
Active
If selected, the lens base type is an available option when an AcuityLogic POS user creates an eyeglass lens order.
Item Group
Group to which the attribute should belong. You can group similar items together for use in insurance schedules, commissions, and productivity.
Section Number
This field has no functionality for lens base types.
- Click Save.
- Use the Map Partners link to add partner codes if necessary.
