Encrypting and Decrypting Text and Files

To encrypt and decrypt text or a file

  1. In AcuityLogic Admin, click Tools, select Encryption, and select Encrypt.
  2. Select one of the following items to encrypt:
    • Text
    • File
  3. Do one of the following:
    • In the Input Text field, enter the text to encrypt.
    • Click Choose File, and find and select the file to encrypt.
  4. Click Encrypt.

    If you are encrypting text, the encrypted value is displayed.

  5. If you are encrypting text, copy the encrypted value to use in step 8.
  6. In AcuityLogic Admin, click Tools, select Encryption, and select Decrypt.
  7. Select one of the following items to decrypt:
    • Text
    • File
  8. Do one of the following:
    • If you are decrypting text, enter the encrypted value generated in step 4 in the Enter Input Text field. Otherwise, go to step 9.
    • If you are decrypting a file, click Choose File , and find and select the file selected in step 3.
  9. Click Decrypt.

    If you are decrypting text, the original unencrypted text is displayed.
