Setting Up the SATO CL408e Barcode Label Printer

To set up the SATO CL408e barcode label printer

  1. Download and install the SATO Windows Printer Drivers from the SATO website.
  2. After downloading and installing the printer drivers, open the Control Panel.
  3. Open Printers and Faxes.
  4. Right-click SATO CL408e and select Printing Preferences.

    The SATO CL408e Printing Preferences window opens.

  5. Ensure that the Printer Settings tab is open.
  6. Click Page Setup and select the following settings:
    • Stock: Custom
    • Copies: 1
    • Width: 2.10
    • Height: 1.70
    • Rotation: 180 - Portrait
  7. Click Print Options and select the following settings:
    • Speed: 2.0”/s
    • Darkness: 2
    • Top Offset: -.3”
    • Left Offset: 0”
    • Format number: 1
  8. Click OK to save your settings.
  9. Open the Control Panel again.
  10. Open Printers and Faxes.
  11. Right-click SATO CL408e and select Printing Properties.

    The SATO CL408e Properties window opens.

  12. Click the Driver settings tab.
  13. Click Driver Settings and select the following settings:
    • Always use driver settings
    • Backward compatible font names
  14. Click Configure Printer and select the following settings:
    • Label width: 2.1”
    • Label height: 1.7”
    • Top offset: 0.3”
    • Left offset: 0”
    • Speed: 2.0”/s
    • Darkness: 2
    • Darkness range: A
    • Character spacing: Proportional
    • Kani code: JIS code
    • Slashed zero
    • Buzzer when error occurs: on
  15. Click OK to save your settings.
