Creating, Editing, and Deleting Resource Exceptions in Book View in AcuityLogic BackOffice
This section explains how to mark a time slot as available or unavailable for a doctor or nonperson resource in Book View of the AcuityLogic BackOffice Scheduler.

To create or edit a resource exception
To mark a time slot as available or unavailable for a doctor or nonperson resource, you can create a resource exception. A resource exception indicates that the resource is either unavailable during a scheduled time block or available during an unscheduled time block.
The resource availability exception tool is useful if a resource is available or unavailable for only small blocks of time. For example, if a doctor is scheduled to work the whole day but has a dental appointment at 3:00 p.m. for one hour, you can create a one-hour unavailable exception for 3:00 p.m.
- You can create or edit exceptions only for future time slots.
- You must set up resource hours before you create resource exceptions.
- If you allow closed and unavailable time overrides, you can schedule appointments even if the office is closed or the resource is unavailable.
- Open Book View. See To open Book View and search for availability.
- In the Actions column, click the green Exception icon (
) for the appropriate time slot.The Resource Availability Exception window opens.
- Select whether the exception type denotes time that is Available or Not Available.
- From the Resource drop-down list, select the resource for which you are scheduling the exception.
- In the Start Date field, enter the start date of the exception.
- In the Start Time field, enter the start time of the exception.
- In the Duration field, enter the duration of the exception.The exception duration cannot be shorter than the duration of the provider’s exam minutes at this office. If the provider's exam minutes are not set up in AcuityLogic Admin, they default to 15 minutes or 1 hour. For example, if the provider's exams are scheduled in 15-minute increments, you cannot create an exception that is shorter than 15 minutes.
- (Optional) To record a recurrence of this exception:
- Click Recurrence.
- In the Recurrence section, select the recurrence interval (daily, weekly, or monthly).
- In the Range of Recurrence section, specify when the recurrence ends.
- Click OK.
- From the Reason drop-down list, select a reason for the exception.
- Click OK to save the exception.
The exception appears in the appropriate time slot.
To delete a resource exception
- Open Book View. See To open Book View and search for availability.

In the Actions column for the appropriate time slot, click the Delete Exception icon.
