Overriding the VSP Interface and Recording Eligibility Manually

If you are unable to obtain an authorization and eligibility details for a patient through the VSP interface, you can override the interface and record the eligibility and authorization manually.

To override the VSP interface and record eligibility manually

1. Obtain the patient’s eligibility as you did before you activated the VSP interface. You can obtain the eligibility by phone, or online at eyefinity.com.
2. In AcuityLogic POS, open a patient profile. See Opening Patient Profiles.
3. Click the Insurance tab.
4. Click the Eligibilities link next to the patient’s VSP insurance.

   The patient’s past and current eligibilities for the plan are displayed.

5. Click Add Eligibility.

   The Add Eligibility window opens.

6. Click Override.
7. Manually record the patient’s eligibility and authorization information and click Save.
