AcuityLogic X-Link Definitions

A partner is a system with which you are interfacing. For example, Optiport may be a partner to which you send contact lens orders. AcuityLogic itself can be a partner since AcuityLogic X-Link processes calculations within AcuityLogic. When you have AcuityLogic as a partner, the partner name in AcuityLogic X-Link is called ALogic, AcuityLogic Service, or a variation of the name “AcuityLogic.”

An integration is the actual vehicle that moves data between AcuityLogic and a specific partner. You can have multiple integrations for each partner. For example, you may have an integration called Submit Eyefinity Orders that sends lab orders to Eyefinity and another integration called Update Eyefinity Order Statuses that sends updated lab order statuses to Eyefinity.

An integration usually runs on an integration schedule, which is usually just called a schedule. For example, some integrations run nightly, and others run every few hours. The data processed each time an integration runs is called a batch.

You may find it useful to think of AcuityLogic X-Link as an airline that coordinates the transfer of data between multiple locations. For example, a partner is the destination of the data, and an integration is the airplane that makes trips between specific destinations on a regular schedule, and a batch is the cargo sent on each trip. In the following example, AcuityLogic X-Link transfers order information from AcuityLogic POS to AcuityLogic Billing. After AcuityLogic Billing creates a claim from the order, AcuityLogic X-Link then transfers the claim to VSP.
