Setting Up Office Employees
You must add employees to the company before you can assign them to an office location. See Setting Up Employees.
This section explains how to assign employees to offices.

To open the Office Employees window
- Open the Company Offices window. See Opening the Company Offices Window.
- Click the Employees link.
The Office Employees window opens.
To add an employee to an office
- You must add an employee to the company before you can add him or her to an office. See Setting Up Office Locations.
- You can add an employee to one or more offices when you set up the employee. See To add or modify an employee.
- Open the Office Employees window. See To open the Office Employees window.
- Type part or all of the employee’s last name in the Employee Name drop-down list, and then select the employee. All company employees are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
- Click Add.
The employee is added to the office.
To search for an office employee
- Open the Office Employees window. See To open the Office Employees window.
- To search for an office employee by role, select a role from the Find By Roles drop-down list, and click Find.
The office employees that have been assigned to the selected role are displayed.
To override a doctor’s exam minutes by day
You can override the exam minutes set up in a doctor’s employee profile and set up the length of a doctor’s appointments by day and by location. If you do not set up any appointment length overrides, the appointment length recorded in the Exam Minutes field in the doctor’s employee profile is used. See To add or modify an employee.
- Open the Office Employees window. See To open the Office Employees window.
- Click the Exam Minutes link next to the doctor whose exam minutes you want to set up.The Exam Minutes link appears only if the employee is assigned to the doctor role.
The Exam Minutes window opens.
- Type the appointment length (in minutes) in each Day field.If you leave a field blank, the appointment length for that day is determined by the appointment length recorded in the Exam Minutes field in the doctor’s employee profile.
- Click Save to save your changes and close the window.
To remove an employee from an office
Removing an employee from an office does not delete the employee’s profile from the company. See To deactivate an employee.
- Open the Office Employees window. See To open the Office Employees window.
- Click the Remove link next to the employee you want to remove from the office.
- In the confirmation message, click OK.
The employee is removed from the office.
