Overriding an ePA

If a prescribed medication requires prior authorization, but you don't want to move forward with the ePA process, you can override the ePA.

To override an ePA

  1. Open the ePA Queue. For more information, go to Opening the ePA Queue.
  2. Locate the prior authorization you want to override and select Override ePA.

A pop-up window appears asking you to confirm your decision.

  3. Click Yes to override the ePA.

Once a prior authorization has been overridden, you can ePrescribe, print, or void the prescription from the Rx screen.
