Configuring the Integration Manager

The Integration Manager allows you to configure various settings and balance performance and resources so the integration works best for your practice.

  1. Open the Integration Manager. For more information, go to Opening the OfficeMate Integration Manager.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Adjust the controls on the Configuration tab based on the needs of your practice. Use the following table to determine the settings that are best for your practice.

    Control

    Range

    Notes

    Polling Interval

    20–600 seconds

The Integration Manager looks for changes in the OfficeMate database and transmits data to Eyefinity EHR at the specified number of seconds.

Lower setting: Data is synchronized more frequently, but may cause excess network traffic.

Higher setting: Ideal for slow networks, but the data in Eyefinity EHR is updated less frequently.

    Long Polling Interval

    2–1440 minutes

The Integration Manager tests the connection between OfficeMate and Eyefinity EHR and updates the Bridge Status at the specified number of minutes.

    Log Level

    Drop-down selections

Select the level of monitoring you want to record in the log. Select highest level that you want to record, and all the levels listed below it are also included. The level you select does not affect what data is transmitted between OfficeMate and Eyefinity EHR. The default level is Error.

Higher levels: More transactional data are logged for troubleshooting, but requires more disk space and may require SQL Standard.

Lower levels: Fewer transactions are logged to conserve disk space, but less information is available for troubleshooting.

    Trace

    Reserved for future use.

    Debug

Logs each step in the process of sending messages, but also lists substeps (e.g., applying security policy), and details (e.g., patient name).

    Info

Logs each step in the process (e.g., sending, receiving, retrying).

    Warn

Logs internal diagnostic data that could not be sent.

    Error

Logs errors. Errors may include acceptable and expected outcomes (e.g., temporary message failures, duplicate data that was received but not processed).

    Fatal

Logs errors that may be of critical interest to your practice. Items logged as fatal may include acceptable and expected outcomes (e.g., duplicate financial transactions).

    Off

    Disables logging.

    Log Retention

    60–365 days

The Integration Manager purges the log after the specified number of days.

Lower setting: Conserves disk space, but removes historical log data more quickly.

Higher setting: Stores log data longer for troubleshooting, but requires more disk space and may require SQL Standard.

    Message Retention

    30–365 days

Messages are the actual data that are transmitted to Eyefinity EHR. The messages are retained for troubleshooting purposes for the specified number of days.

Lower setting: Conserves disk space, but removes historical message data more quickly.

Higher setting: Stores message data longer for troubleshooting, but requires more disk space and may require SQL Standard.

    Archive Retention

    60–365 days

After the retention period, the Integration Manager archives the messages for the specified number of days so Eyefinity customer care can help you troubleshoot errors.

Lower setting: Conserves disk space, but removes historical message data more quickly.

Higher setting: Stores message data longer for troubleshooting, but requires more disk space and may require SQL Standard.
