Managing User Accounts and Passwords
This topic describes how
If a user enters the incorrect password five times, his or her account is locked to prevent unauthorized access.
- Log in to Eyefinity EHR as an administrator.
- In the Practice Accounts section, locate the user who has been locked out.
- Click Unlock.
- Click Save.
- Log in to Eyefinity EHR as an administrator.
- In the Practice Accounts section, locate the user and click the user’s Name.
The Manage Existing Practice Account page opens.
- Enter a password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
The password must conform to your practice’s password policy. To review the password policy, click the Practice Settings tab and scroll down to Password Policy.
- Select Yes from the Must Reset Password upon Next Login radio buttons.
- Click Save.
- Inform the user of the temporary password that you created.
- Log in to Eyefinity EHR as an administrator.
- In the Practice Accounts section, locate the user and click the user’s Name.
The Manage Existing Practice Account page opens.
- Select Yes from the Account Disabled radio buttons.
- Click Save.
You must also disable the user's account in your practice management system.
You cannot delete user accounts. When a provider or staff member leaves your practice, disable their user account to prevent unauthorized access to patient records.
- Reset the password yourself.
Users with administrator privileges, like all users, can recover their own passwords by clicking the Forgot Password link on the login page, provided they have an email address, date of birth, and last name saved in Eyefinity EHR. For more information , go to Resetting Your Password.
- Ask another administrator to reset your password.
If you can't reset your own password, you must ask another user with administrator privileges to reset your password. To learn more, go to To reset a user’s password.
- Contact customer care.
If no other user has administrator privileges, contact Eyefinity customer care. You will be required to complete a form authorizing Eyefinity to reset the password, and the form will need to be signed by a doctor in your practice.
