What's New in Eyefinity EHR 5.22

Eyefinity announces the newest version of Eyefinity EHR! In addition to resolving known issues in previous versions, this updated version improves upon its robust attributes and offers useful new features and expanded functionality. This section includes:
Enhancements for Both iPad and Web
- For exams recorded on or after January 1, 2021, you will see new options for E/M coding for in-office visits. These options support the new AMA E/M coding guidelines. For more information, go to 2021 E/M Coding in Eyefinity EHR.
- You now have the ability to select more refined soft contact lens statuses. These statues are transmitted to the practice management system and enable you to clearly communicate to staff how to dispense contact lenses.
Status Suggested Interpretation Dispensed and Patient Can Confirm Fit
Trial lenses were dispensed. Staff should follow up with the patient. The patient may confirm the fit over the telephone or by secure message.
Order Trail and Needs Fitting by Doctor
Order trial lenses and schedule a visit for the fitting.
Order Trial and Needs Fitting by Staff
Order trial lenses. The patient may return to the office at their convenience for a fitting by the staff.
Order Trial and Patient Can Confirm Fit
Order the trial lenses. Staff should follow up with the patient by telephone or by secure message.
These new statuses may not appear until 24 hours after the release of Eyefinity EHR 5.22.
If you need a custom status, select See Notes and add a note to the Visit Overview.
- Document Titmus stereo tests more quickly with the following workflow improvements:
- Tap Mark All Correct to document the patient identified all the boxes correctly.
- Tap Clear All to clear the contents of all the drop-downs.
- Tap the drop-down for the box the patient identified incorrectly and select Incorrect, and all the preceding boxes are marked “Correct.”
To clear a single selection, tap the drop-down and tap the checked item. For example, if you don't want to document "correct" for Fly Winds, tap the drop-down and tap Correct to deselect it and clear the drop-down.
- You now have the ability to print all final glasses and contact lens prescriptions associated with a visit:
- On the web, open the Visit Overview, click the Integrations tab, and click Print Final G&CL Rx’s; or
- On the web, open the Vision Exam and click Print Final G&CL Rx’s; or
- On the iPad, open the Visit Note, tap the More action bar button, and tap Print Final Rx’s.
Eyefinity EHR renders a single PDF. Each prescription appears on its own page. You may print the final prescriptions prior to or after finalizing the visit.
- Added the ability to document vitals as patient reported.
- Added "Options" and "Decisions" tabs to the following counseling plans: bacterial conjunctivitis, infection, myasthenia gravis.
- Added the ability to document aberrant regeneration as a diagnosis.
iPad-Only Enhancements
- Based on customer feedback, the Show Refractive Measurements sheet now shows the last manifest refraction—regardless of when the last manifest was recorded.
- The Show Refractive Measurements sheet now appears on the Manifest Refraction and +Final Rx screens.
- The Eyefinity EHR home screen now adapts the text size preferences set in the iPadOS Accessibility settings.
Web-Only Enhancements
Subscribers of Analytics can now determine the number or archived visits through the Patient Demographics Custom report. To learn more about Analytics, go to Using Analytics.
Known Issues
The Agenda tab on the iPad app home screen is not displaying the room the patient is in. To view the patient’s room, tap the Office Flow tab or open the Patient Chart. This issue will be addressed in a forthcoming app update.
