This page describes the enhancements, fixes, and known issues in the latest Eyefinity EHR release.

iPad and Web Enhancements

  • We have a new look! You'll notice we rebranded the login screens, help center, and app icons. Be on the look out for these new iPad app icons.

  • We added guardrails to help prevent finalizing exams with incorrect data in Manage Visit Settings:
    • You'll now see an alert when you attempt to finalize a visit or order if you are not the primary provider or primary biller documented in the exam.
    • You will not be able to bulk finalize visits and orders on the home screen if you are not the primary provider or primary biller documented in the exam.
    • You'll see an alert when you attempt to finalize or bulk finalize a visit or order that has a date of service in the future. Click Change Visit Date to correct the data as needed.
  • The Clinical Summary in the patient header now displays Target IOP and T-Max values. These data elements are pulled from the Glaucoma Assessment plan.

  • You can now add custom text to the header of autoletters and faxes. The header text is useful for adding supplementary contact and practice information. You can select the text from templates set up by your practice administrator (see Web-Only Enhancements) or manually enter a custom header. Here's how:
    1. Create an autoletter. For more information on creating autoletters, go to Faxing Autoletters from the iPad App or Faxing Autoletters from the Web Application.
    2. Locate the Header options and select Template or Custom.
    3. Depending on the option you chose, select a template from the drop-down or enter up to 45 characters of Custom Header Text.
    4. Complete the rest of your autoletter and click Print/View, Save to Queue, or Fax.

The header text appears immediately below your practice logo in the header of the autoletter.

iPad-Only Enhancements

  • We've refreshed the Vision Exam Refractions screens to make important information easier to find and require fewer taps:
    • We moved the required Active and Usage selections to the top of the Final Glasses Rx screen, so you no longer need to swipe up to see them.
    • We relabeled the "Quick Preferences" in the Final Glasses Rx to "Doctor Recommendations."
    • We moved the required Usage selection to the top of the Manifest Refraction screen and rearranged the Additional Refraction fields at the bottom of the screen in a more logical order.
  • You can now reconcile summaries of care and close referral loops more quickly in the iPad app. These features reproduce functionality that is already available in the web application:
    • You can now accept or reject all sections displayed in the CCD Reconciliation screen.
    • We added a counter to the CCD Import screen that displays the number of elements in each section to be imported or rejected.
    • You can now identify and select a visit that is denominator-eligible while reconciling data.

Web-Only Enhancements

  • You can now create autoletter and fax header templates. The header text can be up to 45 characters long and appears at the top of any autoletters to which the template is applied. The header template is useful for adding supplementary contact and practice information. Here's how to add a header template:
    1. Log in to Eyefinity EHR as an administrator.
    2. Locate the Faxing and Autoletters group and click Manage Header Templates.
    3. Enter a Title that practice staff will understand and Text that will appear on the autoletter.
    4. Click Save.

ePrescribing Enhancements

  • You can now save up to 50 favorite prescriptions. This was increased from 20 favorites.
  • You can now override ePAs that get stuck “in progress” for more than 24 hours, which means you can release a prescription to the pharmacy regardless of ePA status.

Regulatory Enhancements

  • We're implementing FHIR-based API access as required by the 21st Century Cures Act. The FHIR API enables patients to use third-party apps to securely access their medical records. API access will not require any action on the part of doctors or practice staff. We're actively developing documentation and resources to help you understand how this access works.
  • We updated the CCDA to include such required data as provenance and clinical notes.
  • We redesigned the Manage GPRO (MIPS group reporting) to streamline the selection process.

Fixed Issues

  • We fixed an issue that, in limited circumstances, prevented you from resuming or modifying plans that were added to a visit from Previous Findings or Protocols.

Known Issues

The following issues were discovered after the release. We're investigating these issues and working to resolve them as soon as possible.

  • When prescribing soft contact lenses, sometimes when you change the lens manufacturer, the sphere and cylinder values are removed.
  • When prescribing eyeglasses on the iPad, the prism direction value is not visible.
  • The G9368 CPT code is being transmitted to practice management systems with extra characters appended to it (e.g., G9368C1, G9368C2). The extra characters are causing claim rejections. We're working diligently to resolve this issue. In the meantime, override the billing in Eyefinity EHR to prevent the incorrect code from being sent to your practice management system.
