Adding CPT Category II Codes to OfficeMate Fee Slips and Claims
OfficeMate does not automatically add Category II CPT codes to non-Medicare fee slips and claims. You must add the Category II CPT codes manually for HEDIS reporting.
Enabling CPT Category II Codes in OfficeMate
CPT Category II codes have been added to OfficeMate, but you should make sure the codes are associated with products and enabled:
- In OfficeMate Administration, click the Products toolbar icon and select Products and Services.
- Click the Product Type drop-down menu and select Services.
- Click the Product Name field, type the CPT Category II code number, and click F2-Find.
- Double-click the desired service from the results list.
- Ensure the Service Inactive check box is not selected.
- Click Save.

Adding CPT Category II Codes to Fee Slips and Claims
CPT Category II codes are not automatically added to non-Medicare claims. You’ll need to manually add CPT Category II codes to VSP claims:
- Open the patient’s Fee Slip and click Edit.
- Click the first empty line item and click the Product Name/Code column heading.
- Click the Name field, enter the first few digits of the CPT Category II code, and click F2 Find.
- Double-click the desired product in the search results.
- Select the Insurance.
- Click Record and then click Yes to acknowledge the zero-dollar item.
